US Nonprofit Employee Termination

A small nonprofit was faced with a challenging HR issue related to terminating a long-time employee due to performance issues. As is typical with many small businesses and nonprofits, the employee was customer-facing and deeply immersed in many projects.
Training Services Provided
Taylor HR was retained by the nonprofit to assist leadership with a variety of HR concerns, including performance issues with an employee who was part of multiple protected classes. Taylor HR Group assisted with drafting and executing a comprehensive improvement plan to help the employee meet stated goals. Ultimately, these efforts were unsuccessful and Taylor HR Group advised leadership about communication with the employee, documentation that demonstrated that the termination was based solely on performance issues and the exit process of the employee from the nonprofit.
